Antony & The Johnsons' gorgeous, baroque compositions take the spotlight on this live symphonic recording, which features songs ranging from their 1998 self-titled debut to 2010's Swanlights. The title track (and only new song) slowly builds and unfurls with languid piano and horns that wrap around Antony Hegarty's fragile foghorn: "I've always contained your desire to hurt me," he laments. It's this kind of poignant sentiment that often guides his songwriting, something he delves deeper into on "Future Feminism," a sort of homily on "patriarchal monotheism" and the phases of the moon.
