Trap Lord (Explicit)

A$AP Ferg

image
Released: Aug 2013
Label: A$AP Worldwide/Polo Grounds Music
Neophyte rapper A$AP Ferg has the good fortune of being friends with A$AP Rocky, who reached the top of the charts early in 2013. Using the trap-rave hit "Work" as a peak, Ferg doubles-down on the Dirty South inflections and thug menace, from "going crazy with two ladies" on the aural porno of "4:02" to promising he'll "Murda Something" with Waka Flocka Flame. Whether crooning like Z-Ro on "Cocaine Castle" or chanting like Chief Keef, he's a clumsy presence, and his Trap Lord almost seems accidental. Luckily, it's easy to tune him out in favor of guests like Bone Thugs and Onyx.
