The unique interplay between pianist Bill Evans and bassist Scott LaFaro became even more special with the addition of drummer Paul Motian on this early Evans masterpiece. Fantasy Records thankfully adds alternative takes to the CD reissue, but the repeated songs interrupt the flow of the original album -- it's the only minus on the trio's debut.
