Blue Oyster Cult

image
Released: Jan 1972
Label: Columbia
The band's first record foreshadows the spray of styles and deadpan sense of humor B.O.C. would become known for throughout the course of their career. "Transmaniacon MC" and "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll" are Zeppelin-worthy hard rock, "I'm On the Lamb but I Ain't No Sheep" is practically country, "Redeemed" is country, "Screams" is psychedelic and "Then Came the Last Days of May" is just awesome.
