The Platonic indie band of the late '90s has never waited as long between album releases as they did between There Is No Enemy and this, their eighth record and first with a new lineup; but their rangy clatter, fuzzy guitars, and content faith in guitar-bass-drums are undimmed, and mostly unchanged. "Some Other Song" is a gorgeous, ragged, country-flecked showcase for sharp, brittle indie guitar; "Horizon to Cliff" is what Death Cab For Cutie might sound like now had they never gotten restless -- and had rocked harder to begin with.
