This two-CD set celebrates Crowded House's 25th anniversary, spotlighting a career that started out strong in the U.S. before their edgier later albums lost them American support. Neil Finn is a one-man Lennon & McCartney, matching natural melodic gifts with endless harmonic invention and an under-recognized appetite for sonic experimentation. This set adds a number of rarities to go along with hits like "Don't Dream It's Over" "Locked Out," "It's Only Natural," "Chocolate Cake" and "Better Be Home Soon." Only complaint: Too little of their surprisingly fresh material from the 2000s is here.
