David Frizzell

Younger brother of seminal country music legend Lefty Frizzell, David Frizzell was born with some big shoes to fill; but before you say, "Just like Hank Williams Jr.," take some time to listen to his songs. While his work embraces the rough and ragged life of the outlaw country star, it's not surprising to find kegs of tears in the studio from one of his recording sessions -- Frizzell's honky-tonk songs are chock full of heartbreak and desperation. Like his brother, David Frizzell's voice is one of unmistakable character. His high range affects a natural tremolo on sustained vowels in endearingly nasal fashion.
