Eminem offers a modest proposal: He'll eat the children, chop off lesbians' legs, spit on Christopher Reeve's grave and commit other infractions too vulgar to mention. This is a comeback album, a midlife crisis album and a sobriety album rolled into one. It's a post-therapy confessional recast as a celebutante slasher film, drawing from JT LeRoy, John Carpenter and a random slew of Perez Hilton posts from 2006. And while "Careful What You Wish For," one of the seven new songs on this reissue, presents a softer side to the rapper, most of the tracks are violent, ugly testaments to dysfunction.
