The Odessa Tapes

Flatlanders

image
Released: Aug 2012
Label: New West Records
The Flatlanders rose from relative obscurity in 1990 when Rounder Records re-issued their 1972 recording All American Music, renaming it More a Legend Than a Band. To prepare for their long-ago recording session in Nashville, the group recorded songs in their native Texas -- and pretty much forgot about them. The restored recording, now called The Odessa Tapes, has a number of songs in common with More a Legend and finds the group playing a relaxed and winsome set. There are also four previously unreleased songs, which will make The Odessa Tapes a huge hit with The Flatlanders' fans.
