The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac

Released:
Oct 2002
Label:
Rhino/Warner Records
The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac is misleadingly named, since it covers neither the Peter Green nor Bob Welch eras. It's the best of the Buckingham-Nicks years only -- which is cool. They produced so much great music and had such a distinct sound that the isolation makes sense. Not surprisingly, both Fleetwood Mac and Rumours are well represented (after all, each one is a collection of greatest hits). Eschewing chronological order, the set consists of a zigzag narrative that mixes up tunes from the '70s and '80s: "Second Hand News" sits up against "Little Lies"; "Big Love" follows "Songbird."
