Late Nights: The Album (Explicit)
Jeremih

Late Nights is an apt metaphor for Jeremih, a singer who seems enigmatic and is constantly fading from view. After nearly five years of hits dating back to “Birthday Sex,” he doesn’t possess a strong personality like Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign (who appears on “Impatient”) or Trey Songz. What Jeremih does have is good taste, and on his long-delayed third album he uses coolly minimalist electronic production to illustrate his moves as he swerves between nightlife depravity (“Give No F*ks”) and bedtime whispers (“Oui”). On “Planez,” he tosses out a Scarface reference for good measure: “Have you ever read ‘the world is yours’ on a blimp?”
