Three brand-new songs, a 14-piece band, collaborations with Spanish rapper Mala Rodriguez and Brazilian chanteuse Marisa Monte (not to mention Natalia Lafourcade and Gustavo Santaolalla) -- who does Julieta Venegas think she is, Elvis? But if anybody deserves an over-the-top unplugged presentation, it's Venegas. The lady took her accordion-punk aesthetic mainstream and survived, proving that "catchy" and "meaningful" weren't antonyms after all. She's got a graceful way with pop music, and this balanced set includes a hefty helping of her earlier, somewhat edgier work.
