Heart And Soul

Kenny G

Released: Jun 2010

Chris Botti may have dominated the world of contemporary instrumental music in the 2000s, but Kenny G can still put out a No. 1 smooth jazz album any time he wants. Mr. Gorelick has opened up his backings in recent years, but here he goes back to doing what he does best: blowing long webs of soprano sax lines over lightly propulsive rhythmic backings. Things liven up on such cuts as "G-Walkin'" and "Letters From Home," and there are prime guest spots from Babyface and Robin Thicke (who proves why he is the modern boudoir vocalist of choice on "Fall Again").
