Having topped the country chart after rebranding their 2016 EP’s “American Love Story” as “Greatest Love Story,” self-contained Nashville fivesome Lanco come off more like an emo-infused boy band on their full-length debut. But that’s not always a bland thing, especially when they opt for line-dance-floor boot-stompers like “Trouble Maker” and “Middle of the Night” – the former with blatant “Stuck in the Middle With You” echoes stuck in its middle; the latter with a capella “Cherry Pie” intro and “Karma Chameleon” harmonica. Opener “Born to Love You” and guitar-soloed “So Long (I Do)” have beats big enough to beg for EDM remixes, and the closing title cut just about has one already, thanks to the extended crosstalk pulse at the end. In “Long Live Tonight,” they “ask the DJ to play every song from the ‘90s” – not just country ones, presumably.
