This veteran of the Grand Ole Opry made modest waves with his hit "Auctioneer," a song that has since become an old country campfire standard; he also found a modicum of success with "Walk On By" (the Kendall Hayes country classic, not the Burt Bacharach song). His subtle nasal timbre also found its way into country Christmas covers.
