Bad 25th Anniversary
Michael Jackson

Epic/Legacy
What should we make of MJ's Bad? Is the classic "Man in the Mirror" an attempt to inspire positive growth, or a sign of his megalomaniac tendencies? If his fans are just "Another Part of Me," then why did he ask us to "Leave Me Alone?" And were his angry, hiccupping vocals a sign of eccentricity, or a funky attempt at reaching a hard-edged urban crowd? Despite a few outstanding tracks like "Liberian Girl" and "Smooth Criminal," neither the hip-hop kids nor the quiet storm old folks embraced Bad. Decades later, it's just a difficult chapter in a legendary career.
