Cramming a dozen tantrums into 22 minutes just like hardcore bands of yore, these Southern Californians, fronted by ex-Locust noise-punk Justin Pearson, do a berserk herky-jerk under semi-intelligible screeches about "educated killing sprees" and "pathological optimists." Somehow the songs manage not to sound exactly the same: "Don't Fall in Love With Yourself" opens with a drumroll; "Soviet Reunion" shifts from buzzing beehive to motorcycle race to slobbering metalcore; "Biological Process of Politics" is twice as fast as everything else. Yeah Yeah Yeah Nick Zinner lends an axe once, too.
