Steve Earle

Released: Feb 2015
Label: New West Records
Recording a blues album has been something Steve Earle has been mulling over for some time. He finally pulled the trigger on this, his 16th studio effort. Earle's well-documented demons, and the end of yet another marriage (his seventh), certainly lend well to the blues, which is probably why Terraplane rings with such authenticity. "Better Off Alone" is grizzled and resolute in tone and delivery, but "You're the Best Lover That I Ever Had" seems to suggest he's willing to get back in the romance game. Other highlights include the dirge-y "Go Go Boots Are Back" and "Ain't Nobody's Daddy Now."
