The JaneDear Girls

Released: Jan 2011
Label: Warner Records
The JaneDear Girls' self-titled debut is bombastic with its wailing guitars, pounding drums, banjos, mandolins and more. Not until track five -- the pristine power ballad "Saturday September" -- do the girls slow things down. And it's in this type of environment that Susie Brown and Danelle Leverett showcase their rich harmonies most effectively. "Shotgun Girl," with its soaring pop hook and breezy, carefree attitude is another highlight. Elsewhere, hints of Taylor Swift ("Sing Along," "Lucky You"), Fast Ryde ("Merry Go Round"), even Def Leppard ("Sugar") keep the grooves light and fun.
