Trouble

The Randy Rogers Band

image
Released: Apr 2013
Label: MCA Nashville
The Randy Rogers Band enlisted producer Jay Joyce to clean up their sound a tad, and with two singles on the charts, their decision paid off. Although their music is still firmly wrapped around ringing guitars and Rogers' gravelly vocals, Trouble does sound a bit brighter than past efforts. "Goodbye Lonely" is a heartland rocker that strikes gold with solid songwriting; the chiming guitars and Rogers' earnest twang are an added bonus. "Trouble Knows My Name" is a modern outlaw-meets-Ferris-Bueller song that features Willie Nelson. The two-step feel of "Flash Flood" is another highlight.
