Boasting 18 cuts and closing with a sprawling medley, Future Nostalgia is The Sheepdogs' most ambitious album to date. The Canadian outfit's stunningly retro sound has drawn numerous comparisons to The Band, but their bell-bottomed marriage of hard rock, prairie twang and soulful howls is far more influenced by another Canadian classic rock group, The Guess Who. This connection really comes out on the heaviest cuts, like "Back Down" and the ridiculously funky "Take a Trip." Be sure to spend a lot of time with the entire album. It’s just a lot of fun and super catchy. Perfect road trip music.
