Apparently, Trent Willmon once said the SteelDrivers' lead vocalist, Chris Stapleton, was the best singer in Nashville. He's probably right. Imagine a cross between Bob Seger and new grass revival's John Cowan, and you get the picture. This guy's pipes could probably remove entire mountaintops. Musically speaking, the SteelDrivers are influenced by old-time fiddle music as much as they are bluegrass. Despite the all-acoustic lineup, their strong picking is easily Stapleton's match. Great debut.
