The Sundays

image
Released: Oct 1992
Label: DGC
Compared with their lite and lovely Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, the Sundays' sophomore LP has stormy, contemplative themes, tackling the broadest of existential questions on tunes such as "Life and Soul" or "More" under a sugared surface of early '90s production. Delivered with Harriet Wheeler's breezy detachment, the sermons are easy to swallow, and the mix of pensive shoegazing and happily shiny alt pop has made it the band's most enduring LP.
