The Walker Brothers

image
Released: Oct 1976
Label: Columbia
The Walker Brothers' 1975 reunion resulted in the U.K. smash "No Regrets." Two years later, this follow-up of slightly off-kilter, light country rock didn't even chart. The title track is a genuine Scott Walker cult item: it's over-the-top but honest and powerful, coming off like a junkie opus instead of a love song. "Inside of You" is almost as weird (and good), and John delivers a true country performance with "Taking It All in Stride." Elsewhere, the Walkers cover Boz Scaggs' "We're All Alone" and close with the sincere and gentle "Dreaming as One."
