Biography

Smart, throwback, non-emo punk unit This Moment In Black History -- members of whom have also played in Chargers Street Gang, the Bassholes, and the Cheater Slicks -- first materialized in Cleveland in 1991. They've since put out sundry singles and EPs, plus three full-length albums: the OutKast-title-parodying Midwesterncuttalistik in 2004, the Steve Albini-produced, Public Enemy-title-parodying It Takes A Nation Of *ssholes To Hold Us Back in 2006, and Public Square (which includes a Run-D.M.C. parody) in 2010. The bi-racial band's name, according to their MySpace blog, references an '80s TV public service announcement about African-American history, and serves as a reminder that rock 'n 'roll started out as African-American music.
