On the acoustic-flavored Ashes & Dust, Warren Haynes blends together shades of blues, country-folk and bluegrass. The result is a record that is earthy and uniquely Southern. Teaming up with progressive bluegrass act Railroad Earth, Haynes nails all the right notes on "Company Man" and "Spots of Time," both of which find the beloved guitarist weaving his jammy licks through the band's rustic banjos and fiddles. Another keeper is "Gold Dust Woman," on which Haynes and Railroad Earth are joined by soulful diva Grace Potter, who infuses the Fleetwood Mac classic with her own brand of smoky sass.
