The unsung Boston doom metal band's third album, 1994's Come to Grief is a brutal exercise in no-tempo, face-punching riffs and guttural lead-vocalist croaks. Half crust-punk and half the sludge-doom that would take over metal in the '00s, this is an excellent addition to any slow-swing NOLA junkie's collection, despite the fact that it came from the other side of the country, and not only did the people in their hometown ignore it, but they were actively hostile toward the genre at the time. "Hate Grows Stronger"... "I Hate You"... "Fed Up"... the songs titles say it all.
