Petula Clark

"Downtown" was the first in a long line of American swinging 1960s hits for Petula Clark, who had by that time already become Britain's biggest female singer. Her career hasn't endured in the States to the same degree that it has in her homeland but Clark has weathered the decades well and still performs extensively.
