Though this Sacramento band only put out one LP and one EP before dissipating into Lois, Go Sailor and the Softies, its influence is far-reaching. In the heyday of Riot Grrrl activism, Tiger Trap chose to investigate the equally fascinating territory of post-adolescent romance. Endearing and kind without ever seeming weak, trite or flighty, Tiger Trap glided through upbeat, utterly charming Twee-Pop songs with inspiring confidence and infectious strength. Proof that independent music could be both engaging and artistically valid without being angry or overtly political.
